Disclosures and privacy

The honest fine print.

Here is exactly how we make money, why nothing here is financial advice, what we do with your email, and how to reach us. No legalese wall, no tricks. We tear apart the numbers, so we owe you the same clarity about ourselves.

How The Money Teardown makes money.

Some of the links on this site are affiliate links. That means if you click one and then open an account, sign up, or buy something, we may earn a commission. It comes at no extra cost to you, and it does not change the rate, fee, or price you get.

Here is the part that matters most. Affiliate money never decides which product we rank first. We compare on the actual numbers, the rates, the fees, and the fine print. If the account that pays us nothing is the better deal, that is the one we tell you to get. When a link pays us, we treat it exactly the same as one that does not.

We show affiliate links because running a site and making videos costs real money, and we would rather be paid by the companies we cover than put your data or a paywall between you and the math. If we ever recommend something, it is because it earned the spot, not because it bought it.

This disclosure is provided in line with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's guidelines on endorsements and affiliate relationships. If you ever wonder whether a specific link pays us, assume it might, and know that it did not buy its ranking.

Educational only

This is education, not financial advice.

Everything on The Money Teardown is for educational and informational purposes only. It is not financial, investment, tax, or legal advice, and reading it does not make us your financial advisor. We do not know your full situation, and we are not recommending that you buy, sell, or hold anything specific to you.

Money moves fast. Rates, fees, bonuses, and offers change often, and the numbers you see in a video or comparison may be different by the time you read them. Always check the current terms directly with the provider before you act on anything.

Before you make a real money decision, do your own research and, when it counts, talk to a licensed professional who can look at your actual situation. You are responsible for your own choices, and any action you take based on what you learn here is at your own risk.

We work hard to get the math right, but we cannot promise everything is free of errors or fully up to date. If you spot something wrong, tell us and we will fix it.

Privacy

Your email, and what we do with it.

We keep this simple because our data use is simple. If you join the teardown list, you give us one thing: your email address. We use it for one thing: to send you a note when a new comparison or business teardown drops. That is the whole deal.

We will never sell, rent, or trade your email. That would be a bad teardown, and it would break the trust the whole site runs on. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link, and one click removes you for good. No hoops, no guilt trip.

Your address is stored in our own database, on our own hosting, and nowhere else. When we start sending the list through a standard newsletter platform, that provider will process your email only to deliver our updates. We do not connect your email to any other profile about you.

Like most websites, our host may keep basic server logs and we may use privacy-conscious, aggregate analytics to see which pages people find useful. That is about counts and trends, not about tracking you personally. We do not sell any of it.

You can ask us at any time what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it. Just email us using the address below and we will take care of it.
